IDK what operating system your running... I used to run it on vista then upgraded to 8 (64 bit) and had this issue... what I did was go to the folder steam stores the game steamapps/common/theguildii errr whatever it is... found the program (I dont think this works with the shortcut on the desktop) right clicked it and went to properties. Clicked the compatability tab... and windows 8 has a button that lets you run compatability check... I did that and it set it to run in compatability mode for windows 7 and that fixed it for me. So set it to that and ya should be good.

Actually try this -

1) Right Click on your destop
2) Click on Personalise
3) Click on 'Display' under 'See Also'
4) Ensure the text size is set to 'smaller' (all the way).

Apparently changing this setting can make the cursor not move in game.

Let me know if it works!

when mine stops-- I hit esc then go to the options tab then escape back out and the problem is gone

well her comes your solution keep your 150% go to your shortcut for launching game right click go to properties then compabilities and set to running as windows 8 and run as admin.
On start up mouse is rectangular black thingie but when you get to main mouse works and also works in game.

Done this with the patch 4.2b
I got win 8.1 btw

Solved for me! Running win 8.1 and setting compatability to win7 worked for me. Thanks guys! I started the other thread about this a while back. :deadmanshead:

Yup, compatability under windows 7 works. You can consider disable scaling in high DPI settings too.

Win 7 user here, routinely running desktop with 150% text size, which seems to be a primary cause of this "Unresponsive Cursor" problem. Tried changing Compatibility settings under the .exe properties: no fix. Changing desktop to "Small text:" fixed.
