How do I get a loan?
I can't figure out how to borrow money at the start of a game. I've tried visiting either the pawn broker, money lender or bank (depending on what the map is). When I'm inside the building I have the green option to view loans, however this always brings up a window with "no more offers" and "no loans". Does anyone know how I can get a loan at the start of the game to avoid the early grind?

For reference, I've tried this when the building is unowned, owned by some npc (like a maigstrate or yeoman), or owned by the member of another dynasty. I'm also using the new 4.20 patch, and playing on dynasty mode.

As far as i know, with the current patch bug of 4.20 (as u discribed yourself) its not possible to get a loan.

But you get loans in the guild house, not in the bank/pawn broker. If you can get loans from there, I've never noticed :D

Thats how patch 4.17b works. It has changed in 4.20. The guild hall does not supply loans anymore with the aim to make banking (as player) viable.

I also tried at the guild housem, but no loan options popped up. I tried before entering the guild house, after entering, and after being elected to a guild position.

The AI pawnbrokers do seem to produce the coin items/resources, they just don't offer any loans. For now, I've just edited the config to give some more starting money, since this almost as good as extra money from a loan.

It's broken. Seems the AI don't tell their staff to 'Provide Credits', therefore they aren't offering loans, just making coins.

Does the AI ever pay back loans? I feel like more people keep borrowing and no one has paid a loan back yet.

Then again, it's a very small map (Bremerhaven)

I checked the AI script which makes the money lender employees start "offering credit" and there are several conditions to be met before they do so. For me the one not met was:

if not GetSettlement("SIM","City") then
return 0
end

My settlement is not city yet...
