Took me a while to find this out. But you need to upgrade the game to version 4.20 to get the tutorial.

1. Go to the steam library.
2. Right-Click on the game entry.
3. Choose Properties.
4. Select the Beta's Tab
4. Select 'Patch version 4.20' (ignore the Check Number Box just click the check button)
5. Wait for it to download then start the game.

The Tutorial should now appear in your single player main game menu.

Easiest is play patron and build a croft.

1. Build croft and one field
2. Upgrade croft for wheat, sow wheat on field
3. Buy new title, sell wheat until you can build a public house
4. Build public house, use wheat to make porridge and sell it

This isn't the fastest way to make money but it is easy and you make your own raw materials so you don't have to buy them from the market (and have it be sold out of what you need 99% of the time)

I've been trying to learn the game basics too, as for me, I did the 4.20 tutorial and watched these:

And read this, mostly for reference while playing, partularily the comment at the bottom of page 1:

Started playing this game a couple of days ago and the way with which I've had most success is by going into mining.

If you slide the difficulty all the way to the easiest setting, you'll start with 10k gold, exactly enough to buy you a mine. Send your character and the employee to mine precious stones or gold, which sells extremely well. Most importantly, mines are a great base to expand as you can then build smithies and things that'll use your raw materials to make even more valuable goods...

I'm now Patrician with 300+k in assets, which is by no means amazing I guess but it's a start :)

Are you not playing 4.20? Mines are 12k now.

I've finally gotten a good start after a few hours, but I am haveing another irritateing problem Sometimes I can't find my employees it happens to be 3 of them who all are highway robbers.
Mark Jan 16, 2015 @ 7:05am
You can easely find your employees via the building list (right side of screen). If you hold you curser over a building, it will display its employees. Then you can doubleclick that person at its icon and your screen will go to his location.

ps: doubleclick portrait of that person after selecting him/her

Oh, thank you, and all of you for your help, I was starting to give up on it at first, I had to restart 4 times to get a good start going lol now I'm a little into politics and kidnapping people then charging and torturing them into being my allies lol

Wtf, now my save won't load. :(
Didz Jan 16, 2015 @ 7:37am
I know what you mean I've had multiple restarts mainly because things just screwed up.

At the moment I've managed to get a Croft and a Windmill working and I'm making a decent income, but I can't seem to get the trade carts to function properly. they only seem to work if you put them on constant. I tried to use 'Often' but they just never moved in that mode.

Also there doesn;t seem to be a conditional option like only deliver to the market when your full. Which is a bit of a problem.

Try using ''manage building'' for buying & selling. Only do it to town though (not whole map) and dont let ai buy carts (he will buy to many). Just a tip :D

I cant build orchardist in my map. There is no space that will fit, despite if looking like it will. The town has no supply of fruit/honey. Is there a way out?

Are you aware that you have to build those outside the city? so not on ''green'' areas''

I had that same problem on the London map.

I found enough space for a Croft, but when I tried to build a Windmill I couldn't find anywhere to construct it, either in or out of town. I even resorted to buying an existing business building, razing it to the ground and trying to build on the freed space, but it wouldn't let me.

In the end I was forced to change maps and start again.

Yes I do know that. Seems like even on the out of town area, its too small.

Damn it. Its my 1st play, so I will stick with it for a bit so I can learn the rope (finished tutorial).
It spanwed with a croft. If I wanna own that I guess I have to kill the owner?
