Guide..: make The guild 2 Renaissance run on windows 10 ( if you have trouble )

Hello.
I did my self have some issues with making the game run on windows 10 and here are my tips to make it work though you might not need all of them..
Actual I have some doubt about what part of my guide ( dooh ) that actual made my game work, so take it with a gram of salt and think of it as suggestion about what you can try. ;-)

I have installed the game "the guild 2 renaissance with beta patch 4.21"

Well I have changed some things in the game config.ini file that you can find in the game folder where you installed the game...
I changed the with of the screen to..:

ScreenWidth= 1920
ScreenHeight= 1080

And I changed ( a 1 into a 0 in the text below )
Reason to do so, is that my game play sound and show a black screen and when i click the mouse it should go to the main menu, but unfortunatly it made the game get stuck with a black screen. ANyway try this.

// Show the splash screen at programm startup (0:no 1:on (default) )
SplashScreen = 0


During installation of the game I saw a promt where im warned that windows 10 need something named "directplay".

Here are a guide to how you turn this on in windows ( Recommend you do this before you install the game ) YES you will during install get a notification that windows wish to turn this on, but im not 100% sure if it actual work 100%. So do it manual.

I was having the same issue, but I don't know if it was going to the 4.211 patch or your suggestion for the splash screen, lol, but at least it works now. Thanks!!

You solved the problem, all I changed was the Splash screen from 1 to 0 and success.
