it’s also a pretty messy mod which among other things, introduces a large number of weapons that seems to make it unnecessary to town a carpenter to get the strongest weapon, and makes it possible for blacksmiths to consume gold as a resource. Many of these new items seem to have no market demand whatsoever and remain on the market forever.
among other things the mod does is fills towns with more buildings and makes the croft replace the orchard.
I’ve read the files in the mod and comparatively, I’ll say Fajeth’s modpack has neater code, and changes the game in a way that doesn’t unbalance the original.
however, from my experience there is a major bug in both these modpacks in that the AI seems to be unable to build and acquire new businesses.
it is possible to mod the game yourself by acquiring one of these modpacks and trying to include some features that you like yourself. The game script files can be opened in any text editor. However, the process is fairly complicated and while I did manage to include the gunsmith and piracy mod among other things, it took me a long time to figure out.
Is likely to cause problems, at least you will lose lots of bug fixes from the patches (several hundred of changes have been made). Btw ty for the kind words for my mod ;) ai progress actions such as titles and upgrades (even building new shops) should work properly in the next version
Fajeth, your mod is really coming along, but I'm still not sure I like the idea of having all the max level stuff available at the market from the start. How would I go about easily modding that out (i.e., what lua file and what would I delete/alter)? Thanks!
