Report a translation problem
Another way of getting stripped of your titles is through a trial, though i find this unlikely to be the case, without you noticing :)
HAvent had enough time to test this, but i want to find out if killing any witness's makes the crime go away. FOr instance, kill citizen A then kill the random serf that was walking by. In theory the crime should go away. Unless it automatically get reported by the npc.
I believe NPC's "talk" to each other and spread the evidence. If youre quick enough, you might make it though :)
You can of course always just kill the prosecuter and then show up for court. Your rival will fail to show up and all charges will fall. You can check who is the one pressing charges on the Guild Hall, under Messages tab (I believe its a beige document on a green background in your toolbar)
I also have immunity.
