Nobody comes to sermons

Nobody comes to my church when I do sermons. I hold it at 6pm so that more people are finished with work, but still nobody is there.

What's up with that? How can I get them to come to the church?

Starting your own sermons isn't going to attract people. The way to know when to start your church sermon is when people are lining up near your church with the action "Attending Church." If you start your sermon anytime before you see people with that action, you're wasting your precious time for those sermons even if the people join mid-sermon. As a Church-playing Scholar, you're more or less catering to other people in terms of sermons.

So how do I get more people to do the whole "Attending Church" thing then? I upgraded the +25 Attractiveness upgrade already. Do I also need to place the gargoyle to get people to come?

You can tell when to hold a sermon when multiple npcs are standing outside your church.

Meatball, are you also using the most recent version of TradeWarPolitics mod? I've had similar issues since the most recent patch with that mod in which no NPCs will attend church in the game.

I do have people now, finally. Not really sure what was required to get them, I do have a fully upgraded building now. Although, still not making very much from the sermons alone. I guess that's to be expected.
The bibles are very lucrative though.

Be sure to make the hosts. Those are very lucrative and easy to make.

If you are using fajeth mega mod. Look at the town percentage of people following your faith. I know there is a place to click its either the town hall or and icon somwhere that lets you know the percentage following your religion. You may have to use a conversion document to get followers to convert.
