As an experiment I tried saving the game and then resigning my office in Belley and moving my character into the house in Lyon also, but this did nothing to help get the kids into their apprenticeships so I re-loaded the pre-resignation save.
I now have no idea what to do it's like the Church apprenticeships are just closed off to my dynasty or something?
Not had this problem before as had the same setup in my last game with both a Protestant Craftsman husband and Catholic Patron wife having kids that could be turned into scholars (and anything else) at the apprenticeship stage.
The only thing I can think of is maybe the Churches have to be Cathedral level to train apprentices? I think all the local Protestant ones are no higher than Dome, there is a Catholic cathedral but my character and his sons are protestant (the wife is catholic though)
Damn, that sucks :(. Guess I will have to start again. Aside from this problem this save is going really well :(. Perhaps I will start off as a Scholar this time.
The annoying thing as well is I won't know whether I've got this problem on another game until getting a kid to a certain age, so it's a lot of time to invest before you discover the bug!
