The Guild II: Renaissance

What can I do with the useless extra family members?
So, I had a bunch of kids as spares if my characters died, but now I have too much people and they are doing nothing. Is there a way of marry off the daughters, use the sons as workers, make them become nun/monks, something?

I wonder this too. I tried having a son, because I thought my dynasty would die if not since marriage lol, had 4 daughters. I realized it didnt work that way but I had a lot of extra kids and now they just stand in my house.

Same thing. And when you ungroup them they loose their political mandate. So you can't even make them "Idling gov position".

You can make them idle gov position. Not sure if Legacy mod made that possible or not but I had 3 family members occupying the top political positions and only 1 character in my active group. What's unfortunate is it seems your dynasty members technically have no money if they're not in your group, so they continue to try to advance in office but they don't have the money to apply to new positions.

The family members still contribute to your dynasty fame and imperial fame Later on in the game, when means to outright kill family appears, having backups becomes useful.
Never thought that i'd praise abort

How so? By simply existing, or do you mean if they hold a position?

But then the "spare" offspring have no qualifications and can't manage your businesses, can they?

They contribute by simply existing, as long as you send them to the right school.

They idle but still go to their different appointement like office vote, duels... and you can't chose how do they react. But on the political scene they obviously vote for others family members when available
Thanks to everyone that answered!!!
I guess they are mostly useless, only for backup propurses if my 3 characters die. Now, I would like to now if they can build up experience, so if my characters die they could work in the updated buildings, or I have to start off scratch again?
