AH i see, Thank ye! so hire MORE men ... *knods* ... Okay then.
Edit: You know you'd think other cities in the empire would hire men randomy reguardless if you were playing on a single map or not i mean, the German empir has quite a few cities to combat more then 1000 troops er what ever. so on singlr maps, hire more men? instead of it being all just you.
If you are interested:
Pre war troops are calculated randomly.
5 cases:
both sides have 300 + (0..99) forces
both sides have 400 + (0..199) forces
both sides have 500 + (0..299) forces
both sides have 600 + (0..399) forces
both sides have 700 + (0..499) forces
so lets say, you get pretty unlucky (case 5) and also roll a 0 and your enemy a 499 you would need to pay 500 soldiers (with power 1) for 500.000 or 167 advanced soldiers (with power 3) for 501.000 or 63 cannons (with power 8) for 630.000 (yes, cannons are less cost efficient) to have a larger force.
calculation for the "battle" is:
a = all soldiers of both sides combined
if Random-Number(0..a) is lower than the number of your forces, you win.
So yes, the formular is really strange, because the more soldiers you buy, the better are your chances of win because you get more soldiers than your enemy, but on the same hand you also increase the chance of losing because the same number is added to the losers side.
So basicly it's all random and if the devs would have been honest, they would just roll a d20 and that's it, because the math behind this is just dumb.
War is on my list for a big rework, might even get in there after the sales-stock rework for the next release
That "knods" part you added was completely unneccasary.
