What does the difficulty slider do exactly?
I just played a game where I left the difficulty slider at normal. I was basically able to wipe out my opponents without issue and never had an attack on my buildings, never got kidnapped, or extorted. I basically had no resitance at all.

Does the difficulty slider just adjust how much money you start with? Does setting it to hard make the other dynasties actually try to hurt you at all. I was pretty bummed in my last game. I became king pretty easily since no one would get in my way or even try to do anything against me. I murdered so many people and never once was brought to trial.

the money and the other copmany will attack you more and it will be harder to take a office.

It changes the money you start with and how aggressive ai is. Keep in mind though that the ai will also be aggressive towards each other. That means Ai rouges can catch a beat down quick, or get brought to constant trials. Also if you start rogue you take the buildings up, meaning less bad people to try and fight you.

I would bump the slider up, or try the fajeth mod out and turn up difficulty.
Playing fajeth mod right now. It makes it so you own less buisnesses and titles are more expensive. So you can't just start taking up the whole map. I actually had to develop my town, place buildings then sell them to AI dynastys to grow my city.
