But in vanilla, to actually perform actions against your buildings, the AI needs to order an npc, you know, move there, bomb that... which makes it quite hard if not impossible for the AI, as its really hard even for the players.
So I supose its a new "feature" from megashitpack, your buildings just get randomly and automaticaly bombed from time to time, by an invisible and evil maniac the guards cant see or attack :D
Because the AI is broken and violence was completely removed from the game, I guess thats the solution they found.
Bit of an understatement.
Hot damn dude you really dislike the mod. Nobody is forcing you to play in it, there is no need to be so upset about it in most threads :). Not to mention most of the problems you mention in them (no thieves, no stock selling etc.) are not problems I encountered.
I was really eager to be a banker... but then I saw the dead cities, and no sales stock... got really upset.
There is an aboundance of thieves, specially because the guards never attack them. Thieveland!
Sale stock is a broken feature. You CAN use it if you want (its just invisible) but it wont do you any good. Ever. I just made it invisible to discourage people using it.
@all:
You would do me a great favor if you post your megamod-feedback inside the megamod thread because that would actualy help me in fixing the issues you encounter. Because, you know, it's still a WIP mod, not even near to beeing finished. Or, as Badargo does, just bash it. I don't mind that. I can't improve on things I don't know of though
Don't worry about that guy, he's just your average internet troll, you are at least trying to do something good for a game. Complaining about how someone's work is not amazing just doesn't really do anything at all. It seems like he's the only one and considering games I play tend to have a multitude of them, that's pretty good.
Oh yeah out of curiosity how difficult is it to mod for this game? I assume there isn't much in terms of documentation, though I could be wrong though.
See here: http://www.gilde2.de/social/board/730-tutorials-howto/
and here: http://www.gilde2.de/social/thread/5857-the-guild-2-script-documentation-die-gilde-2-skriptdokumentation/
If you interested I can make more tutorials/ more translations of tutorials written in German.
Ah okay, well just so happens that i'm a software/game developer myself. I certainly like the idea of the game that's for sure. Not sure what kind of mod i'd want to work on since I haven't played the game for that long.
But I appreciate the links to the information.
Primary reason I made a separate thread was because I wanted someone to recommend what to do to avoid the stinkbomb problem, rather than basically report it as a bug.
I plan to change it so that you can see your competition in your important person list. Try to make NAP to make them stop (or kill them)
Fair enough. I'm a bit of a noob at the game so I don't know about most of the ways to become friends with people. Tried becoming friend with a robber baron so he'd stop stealing my ♥♥♥♥, but my guards killed some of his guys so he got upset.
Got him executed instead.
So these dinasties shouldnt have stink bombs in the first place.
But lets just assume the bombs are for sale. Being able to avoid the guards and bomb a place, for the AI... unless the building is in the outskirts of town, Id say thats so IMPOSSIBLE, the Ai wouldnt ever achieve that.
So yes its probably a random event made to balance out the broken and passive AI of megamodpack.
This is why I like vanilla more. When I get attacked, plundered, bombed, its a real npc, with a real name, who came all the way walking andleft the same way. I can even try to chase and kill it, as I often do :P
Stop the item getting sold to the market
