The Guild II: Renaissance

Ai Cheats
I like this game a lot, I know it's old, know no ones gonna change anything.

But it sure is lame when the only way to really win is to kill off any competitor you have. Now, I play on hard and understand the ai will attack me early or that even if someone likes me 100% I still can't get an office spot b/c I see ai pulling charms on people all the time ( not really, they prob just start at 100% with everybody ), or how chance of something bad happening to you is incressed, like a cold or courting people wont work as easy..

But, for the love of god, why would you add a finanices tab that basically shows how the ai is cheating... Hell, i'm fine with starting at 2.5k and them 10k... But after a couple rounds all I see on the chart is small-big-huge jumps in their finances and NO drops... This is impossible, with a nickle and dim game like this, you will be gradually making money always with big drops once you buy something, upgrades/titles/house . The ai on the other hand starts off as a commoner like you.. So how after buying a title do they show no drop in finances, but actually make money ?

--Ai

-- blah blah

Money = 10k

If title == 0 then
buy title
money=money-firsttitle -- whatever
end

if time_past_ingame > ( 15min ) then
attackplayer=true
end

If player_owned_buildings > ai_owned_buildings and ai_money >= 8000 then
buy_another_building then
return -- lolz

Get my point? idk I just feel is a pain to see the ai cheat so bad and I really don't think that it would have been hard to make a real ai money pool.

ALSO, its a pain in the balls to keep up with the ai and the op message board!!

You can cheat to, sort of. Go to a pub and use save/load while playing the dice game. You can do this with all your dynasty members and make millions. The AI gets free money, this is obvious. I have sat by and killed robbers nonstop, yet the AI still makes money and the robbers keep getting replaced forever.

You dont have to kill people to gain office. Making everyone in town like you is pretty easy actually, but it costs money. There are items that make everyone around you boost their faor toward you. Perfumes, combs, jewerly, alderman chains... and the effects stack if you have your dynasty members do this also and all stand at the town square for a day. Everyone in town will love you. You can also bribe people. Dont bribe dynasty leaders that costs a fortune. Brike their workers! Its cheap and has the same effect. Now that everyone in town loves you, you will gain fame points, and everyone will vote for you! All that takes time and money of course and murdering your opponants is still alot quicker. Certain council positions make it so you cant be accused of crimes. Get up to those before you start your murdering spree and no one will stop you because no one can. Unless they murder you.

Get all 3 of your active dynasty members in office and vote yourself to the top.

How are you able to see the AI's finances? A hack? I can never see what each AI does with their money.

There is a balance sheet that shows money and total assets.

@OP: Just wondering, Vanilla, MegaMod or legacy?

And where/how do you view this balance sheet?

The scroll at the bottom right, where you can also compare total points and what not. Only for coloured AIs ofc

You can check how much money the ai has compared to you using the graphs.

The ai does not only cheat, it cheats in a way that just looks bad, in my save I have around 20k, the ai have 200k+ selling fish and owning a baker and a pub... a baker without the raw materials being provided, meaning they have no farm or mill and should have to buy it in the market, if they did this they would have small drops in money and as far as i can tell the ai for the most part makes no money on its own and seems to go up and up without small ripples in its finances. My money is jumping all over the place and has ripples in the graph.

An easy way to make this game is give ai money and just have the carts move around for show.. I hope that's not what's happening
Teralitha Jan 23, 2017 @ 9:18pm
I cant explain the lack of ripples in the graphs, but I can assure you the AI is in fact buying and selling things and using consumables.
