I got the death sentence...
All I did was take out one building far out of town. A farm. Then I got summoned for court and they gave me the death sentence.

I had a 10 rhetoric. What else do I need to do to come out of court?
It was in a seconday town, should I have just become an outlaw? Is outlaw permenent or is there a way to get rid of it?

never been an outlaw so couldnt tell you if you would of been better off

if youre going to take something out (guessing youre rogue) use the women to distract guards

did you try bribing the court as well? you cant leave it all up to rhetoric bro

if you were useing fajeth mod id tell you to by sacred scent potion and take it before court. Get off scot free.

Probably too late to matter, but for claritys sake, if you become an outlaw you will get given a certain period of time before you can come back into the town (I dont know exactly how many 'turns' it is but its not insignificant). If you reneter the town during that time the guards either attack you or arrest you, cannot remeber which.

You aren't mistaken, you're completley correct.

Its simple: Make sure your accuser never makes it to court. Can't charge you with a crime if there is no prosecution. Easiest way of getting out of any court situation presuming you're will to get your hands even filthier.

Quite often the people you want to kill just don't come out of thier houses.

Then firebomb the house, they'll come out then

Ok so I have very evil character. He has had court summons for 20 years. I live in Colone. In dussledorf I'm out law. In my home city I get -15 dislikes everytime I pass a person. If an Npc has control of any type of gaurd they use those to attack me. Enemy Thugs are never far away.

First time I got 4 years outlaw. Next I got 6 years. About to hit outlaw again. SO my main guy is house arrested. If I make him leave I have to baby sit him.

THis does have an advantage though. If I want to brutally murder someone, he takes all the flak. SO even for those npcs you need to kill who never leave town. Just wait for an isolated spoit and kill him. Hes 60 now. SO gonna use him to take a few more buildings/murders and his life of crime will die with him. Well, atleast untill his son is of age.

I did take out about 6 previous accusors before court even happened. Things can happen and you can miss your target. SO sometimes outlaw is unavoidable.

Update. SO it is possible to kill every single person running in an election. Climb to mayor. Insert the other 2 family members in the lower spots. Now my evil guy has immunity.
WanderingWizard Jul 30, 2017 @ 2:51pm
If you have an outlawed character who has immunity, the guards will still try to arrest them. The immunity is just from legal prosecution in court. It can't counteract an outlaw sentence.

I try to avoid being outlawed at all cost. It's just such a pain because you'll have to constantly, manually get your character to kill the guards sent after them, and that will repeat constantly. It's not worth it for me.

The original poster received a death sentence, but I think that's pretty rare. I just have one of my characters be the execution, and whenever he/she is called into court, they cheerfully go, lie through their teeth, take the punishment, and then just continue their murder sprees after the trial. And if they get the death sentence? That's fine. It's for the good of the dynasty. As long as you someone in your family having like 5 children every 15-20 or so game years, you're good. A son/daughter can take up the mantle, and there will be revenge.

Keep in mind also that it seems like whatever any thugs/employees do reflects on the head of the family but not on junior members, and what family members do only reflects on them.

Its not the head it is the owner of the building. So if you make your newest party member owner of the house and send thugs out he takes the blame for the thugs actions. Discovered that last night when my wife got put in the pillory. Just like a mobster put the house in my wifes name.

My dwelling house is outside of town, guarded by watchtowers with a mercenary castle in front of it.

My main guy is usually an outlaw. That's just how it goes.
