Politics and Gaining Favor?
I dont know if it's called favor or whatever, but yknow what I mean, how much people like you. Anyway, I'm just...I'm so confused here. I can never seem to get people to like me and STAY liking me, for instance...I just started a game, I moved to a smaller town because I kind of wanted to see what it'd be like to not be in a big(ish) town right off the bat. I start as a rogue, make amulets, slowly accrue favor, marry a patron (scholar?) start a tinctuary for perfume later down the road. I get favor accrued with the mayor the bailiff and the....ummmmm whatever the third guy is, master of guild maybe? Anyway, they're all at 100% favor, I keep checking their favor levels constantly like literally almost every 30 seconds because I usually play on either fast speed or very fast. All of a sudden, without ANYTHING new happening or developing with my family..I had built no new buildings, I had kept applying the amulets, working towards a level 3 patron and BOOM all three of the office position holders favors go to ZERO. WHY???? They were all at 100 for YEARS and then just all of a sudden one day they woke up and decided they hated me?

You pretty much have to keep the favor up constantly with either gifts, bribes or diplomatic relatinships, or it decays. It can decay gradually or it can decay just like in your case. Usually I don't bother with favor, unless I am trying to win an office.

Maybe you attacked them (your robbers?)? Any mods? Or another dynasty destroyed the friendship. There is an office that can make others hate each other

I kept up with the compliments and amulets/perfume, once it reached 100 it never really decayed past 90ish percent until it just all of a sudden dropped completely to zero. I didn't attack them or have any robbers the only rogue building I had was the vagabond camp to make amulets, not even begging or anything with them just pure production of amulets. No mods either, not sure about another dynasty there were only three positions in the offices of this small town, and no actual dynasty held one of them just like yknow those random people.

did you check Notice Board? sometimes opponents put up pamphlets about you on the board that reduces your repurtation whoever comes acroos them.

I had not checked notice boards though every time I do check them they never show anything on them, would that make a fully 100% favor person go to zero though? that'd be a bit overpowered

Humm. that's strange for relations to go down that fast. Remember that relations are a two-way street. That means if the mayor stole funds and was caught, his relationship will go down with you (you like him less) too as well as every other person in town.

Plus other dynasties can make people dislike you by spreading lies through the notice boards and other means (like with the scholar profession). Also rogues are disliked but only when you steal or have your employees steal or do some other shady stuff. Can't explain it either.

I usually catch most things that make my favor decrease and can fix it but just sometimes for no reason at all their favor just goes to complete zero and this goes for literally every single person in the whole town im staying in, and it happens every game but its just... random when it happens, ive taken to just saving constantly to fix the issue because at this point I'm assuming its a bug

Wearing certain jewely can make people like you more, temporarily, wearing perfume, eating certain foods, using certain other items, like a comb. The effects of those things are all temporary but can have a huge effect if you do it while hanging around a large group of people like in a church or the marketplace. If you have 3 dynasty members all wearing perfume and hanging in the market the whole town will love you after a little while.

Relationship bar usually only decays if you happen to be competitors in business, or have made people your enemy in some way. But I think in general that they will decay to a nuetral range if there is no reason for them to hate you. But, unfortunately, there are many reasons for the game to hate you, so you will have few friends, and even if you do, they usually dont stay friends. So if you want to succeed in council and stay on top, you have to keep people happy constantly.

Yeah I was using amulets and perfumes constantly, their favor wasnt actually hard to get I didnt even have to bribe anyone at all with a beginning set up of rogue/scholar making amulets and perfume, the only issue is what I'm assuming is a bug at this point when all favor with everyone in the town goes to zero, despite what it was at literally just seconds before.

Rogues have a harder time keeping friends, for obvious reasons. The actions of your workers also affect it. Like waylaying. And kidnapping... or getting caught stealing

Nah I wasnt doing anything illegal with my rogue, just a vagabond camp and having him tell fortunes/crystal ball stuff to gather people around him to make the perfumes and amulets work more, also the scholar with a church and gather believers action with perfume and amulet works wonders for keeping favor up. My problem is not....losing favor like how you'd assume it'd regularly decay, my problem is all favor of everyone in the town all of a sudden and completely and utterly randomly, going to zero. No gradual decrease in it, nothing that I can see would make it completely drop for every single person/family, maybe for a single family sure if you like didnt vote them into office maybe or converted believers if they have an opposing church but nothing under-handed or illegal, none of that happened though just all of a sudden randomly throughout my games everyone every single person just goes to zero.

No idea. has never happened to me.
