Executable seems to be deleting itself on launch?

I had no issues before the patch, but I just tried to launch the game, and got an error that the exe was missing. So I reverified the files, and steam reacquired it, but then the same thing happened. So I tried launching the game from the folder, and I also tried a full reinstall, but I'm not having any luck getting this to not happen.

What does the error say exactly? Must be something specific to your system, as this is the first I hear of this error.

The game itself isn't saying anything. Just when I launch it, Steam says "Game failed to launch (unknown error). And then after the first time: "Game failed to launch (missing executable)"

Seems it's a conflict with my Anti-Virus. I'm using Avast. I got around it by adding an exception, but you might need to contact them about your game not being a virus? I don't really know how these things work.

Seems more of an issue with your anti-virus giving false positives

Me too. I also use Avira, and i fixed it by making an exception as well.
This program "Reimage Plus" that i just installed in the hopes of fixing an entirely different problem (https://appuals.com/windows-10-restarts-instead-of-shutting-down/), also tells me that the exe file is a virus. It's the file called towerclimb_v1_steam4.exe --- HEUR/AGEN.1014166
