Aquanox 1 & 2 Remaster

Is there a chance of a remaster happening anytime ? I have typed in aquanox in Google, Reddit and YouTube search, unfortunaley without many results. Makes me kinda sad, also aquanox 1 has some technical issues running on Windows 10
I played these games when I was younger, really liked the Soundtrack, ambience, setting, all very unique
Could maybe be ported to mobile devices even
Just wanna hear some of your thoughts.

isnt this more of a remake? like complete reimagining of the story?

Currently that title is pretty dismal from all indications. Also 1/2 are PERFECT games pretty much the way they are...both function FINE on 4K graphics. They were decades ahead of their time when released. AD3 COULD become amazing like that also...just has to make some big changes, maybe even go FTP or some crazy thing, hah. What COULD surely use the remake to 4K graphics is Archimedian Dynasty...that would be an INSTANT BUY from me :)

Would be pretty Awesome. Tried "Chorus" today but I dont like the 3rd person view and the controls are pretty strange to me. No strafing and I'm instantly dead when enemies attack me ^^ Tried the demo version of it. I really miss old aquanox.

yes, i took about 7.5 hours to get Archimedian Dynasty working perfect. Essentially got it playing in 4K with a gamepad. 4K works out of the box on the next two sequels, and of coarse you can easily do the same thing with the gamepad. I used ANTI MICRO freeware to get the pad configured WITH EASE!

if you want a good sequel to these games that is more modern you can try DILUVION. I quite enjoy it. Maybe someday they will fix Aquanox3...

IF you have the patience/skill to do what I did with AD you would probably enjoy that MORE than diluvion though, imagine that. A 25 year old game that plays better than a modern one...talk about a classic!

Chorus is really good, the controls take a little getting used too, but when they click, the combat is so good, you won't miss strafing at all. The story....not so much

But man we really need more underwater shooters.

It runs without issues on modern PCs. Why do you need the cash grab edition? Remasters aren't what they've used to be, you know.

We don't need remasters. AquaNox 1 & 2 are running perfectly on today systems and quality is also sufficient. Game remasters are often damaging original games and their atmosphere and qualities. I am a game developer myself and this is something I would never recommend doing, although there are some titles that worked, but it is better to create a new one a invest energy and money into that.

I would say, we need a direct follow up of AN 2 Revelation from its ending movie, but I do not want to go to details here. Original series is beautiful world, well written with great story telling, through dialogues, missions, characters, atmosphere and those 3D pre-animated realistic stations like Atacama, Asylum, Neopolis, etc. I mean, if there is AquaNox 3 one day, it could be just boosted style of AN 2, maintaining the logic and uncover more from the original world, characters and stories...it could be awesome.

AN Deep Descend is complete disappointment in my eyes... I went through the walkthrough of whole game. Not good, this is not AquaNox.

You proably only get fake remastered editions, the original creator died sadly before the 3rd game. which is why aquanox deep decent isnt like the 1&2. any game of this series now koming will be offset from the original once.

nvidia GPU based: though you can still play them and if you use nvidia inspector enhanced settings...you can even make they´re old textures looks like 10 times better with negative mipmap -3,0 (and force good SGSSAA 8x due to aliasing from mipmaps -3.0 effect)

WHAT AquaKnox REALLY needs is not a remake, but a sequel, or just some kind of newsbreak that would attract newcomers to the franchise. Guys, mods are not made, the plot, lore, graphics, gameplay are not discussed. There are games with a huge and long-term fanbase, there are those where the fanbase is small but close-knit. And we have nothing. In Russia, the game is remembered a little because of the chic dubbing and ... that's it. I think even the Germans themselves no longer remember it.

I agree, its that aquanox 2 isnt even a direct sequel to aquanox 1
as far as i remember the big ass end boss of aquanox 1 got devoured by a biont, as mentionend in the last cutscence.. wtf
thing is, if there would be a sequel, the story writers and developers should care about it / be invested in it imo because otherwise its just aquanox deep descent

I get it guys and I know all the things you said.. It is nice to see that there is still you guys and some small community remembering this game and it's original story. After all those years I still think this is a one of a kind story/concept and should be pushed by someone in the future - into new game or movie (imagine Avatar-like style with similar quality and writing). This is why I got really dissapointed by Deep Descent, why someone invested energy into something so bad. Anyways, I hope one day we will move forward with this and also I would love to put community and developers together to take a look if we can create a well prepared cross-community accepted follow up of Aquanox
