Is there a prequel to this?

Is there a prequel to this, either a game actually before it or one that was made after to seem like the prequel? In the intro movie it talks about a race found that was trying to eliminate the human race and a girl who sacrificed herself to finish a job. Or was that just a background story with no actual game behind it?

I really like those series too! There are two sequels thats for sure and a new game Aquanox Deep Decend on the way.. dont know about prequel tho. It might just've been the hook

Oh I was sleepy.. yes this is the original game, but as far as I know they merly connected rather the new story within the setting. However I know Aqua 1 and 2 games are father and son thing, nerration-wise..

Archimedean Dynasty was awesome, I remember playing it when it came out. I haven't checked but I don't know if you can get it working these days. It had more scope than the later Aquanox games. I backed the Aquanox DD kickstarter hoping for something similar but it needs a few patches...

It was like Wing Commander Privateer.
