How is the playerbase?

I'm currently installing the game, it seems pretty fun, but I'd like to know how many people are active daily/at a time. I'd love to play this with someone who knows how to play it, if anyone is down. I'm used to these kinds of games so I should be able to understand most :)

im also a newer player, Ive been on and off with the game but what ive learned over the years is game like this, EVE, and albion, are no fun without some friends! im reinstalling and looking for a guild or some friends to play with!

Well I was kind of joking but I have a question for old timers, didn't Funcom used to release player stats up until like 2006 or 2008?

Or there was an xml style webpage online somewhere that funcom or someone hosted?

I could of sworn that back in the day there was data released about how many people were currently logged into rk1-3. And I could of sworn rk2 was at like 3k players back then.


It's been so long and I spent a lot of time reading and posting on the forums back then that I might be confused.

Losing forum access when you stop subscribign to the game was another thing I hated abotu Funcom.

You can check the steam game stats but that will only show you those who use steam to run the game.... less then the fingers on your hand.

Everyone must be either logging on at the wrong times or going to the wrong places, cus I'm quite surprised with how many people are still running around.

If you want an honest estimate I'd guess during the peak 2 hours there are about 1000 people max. And the rest of the time maybe 500.

But that was like 2 years ago when I last played so I am not sure if it got worse or a little better, The few tiems I got on since AO came to steam it seemed like things were the same or worse.


The real question is how many of them are afk or standing around rp'ing,chatting,dualing etc in Athen,ICC and Bor?

In 2008/2010 i got tired of how crappy the population was and how dificult it was to find teams for the content I wanted to do at any given moment... I'd be in SL with my lfg chat macros and on lfg for too darn long unable to find/form a team, but if I stopped by Bor or OA I'd see tons of F*ers standing around outside ft or at grid terminal. And if you ask them for a buff you find out they are afk.

So before I quite I leveled a froob Agent,Trader, and fixer for for buffs and fixergrid because I got tired or trying to find someone for SFA,Wrangle,Behe, etc.

Well they let unsubscribed players log in till july 5th... free week for the 17 year anniversary.

Some of us only log into our paid accounts when there is a free week... seeing more people around is expected... but i'm in bor and oa on my 211 trader right now and it's pretty empty.

maybe people havent tried logging in today since it's the 5th and they figured the free week is already up... but i guess it's end of day today that unsubbed accounts lose thier free access.
