Can you annex bordering countries?
Just curious, since I am in a prime position to do so. Everything I did before just got me proposals for peace offering like 25m for turn.... Am I right in assumin you can't?

You can't. Rogue State is not a game about conquering, but rebuilding a ruined country and surviving as a leader. War is usually something you want to avoid in this situation. But of course, every battle you win will give you money, improve your popularity and put you in a better negotiation position.

that kind of sucks... I feel like you should at least be able to make them a puppet state and continuously request money from them unless they start war with you. Maybe in a full invasion, replace their head of state...

This game needs more to it... desperately....

You can attack them again and again and get more money out of them. If you win many battles, they will be afraid of you, which gives you an advantage in future (trade) negotiations. And if you just want to get rid of them, you can try to assassinate their leader, and their country will sink into chaos.
But a small and desolate country like Basenji is not in a position to just annex other countries. Rogue State is not a war game.

Shouldn't have to be a war game to do as such... smh... it's just... an hour-long gameplay without that further depth. i woudln't expect for it to sell a lot....

It's alright if that's your opinion. Opinions seem to differ a lot on this question. Many people praised the replayability, but some found it boring.
I'd be interested to know how much time you've spent with the game so far, how far you have made it and if you have beaten it.
