Cant install Hardware Patch

I want to install the Hardware Patch but it gets all access denied, even when I start it in Admin mode.

strange question:
But can it be that you have a Disc-Drive in your pc before that HDD of yours?
I can remember a player who had the same issue and the solution was to just insert a CD in his Disc-drive, so it was not empty when the scanner looked for the games and then found it.

I don't know if it is the same issue or what is causing this on some systems, but could you give it a try please?

Are you sure you used admin permissions? Maybe it is better if we analyse the issue in a live chat at the official SpellForce-Discord-Server in the support-channel:

Discord is live chat, not voice only.

But this does not look like admin permissions. It can't even go into "C:\Program Files (x86)".
Please make sure to execute it with admin permissions on an account that has admin permissions.

I do that already. I right click the icon and chooce "Run as administrator". My PC has only one account anyway.

Thats very strange, since it is clearly a permission issue.
like you can see, you have your game in "E:\Program Files (x86)" installed and he has no permission to check it.

is something else blocking it?

I think so, but have no idea what. I´m not really a computer expert.

Are you using Windows 10? if yes, then please check your privacy settings and execute the patch-exe from the directory of the game, maybe this will help if windows does not allow to work in different folders then the app is currently located (depending on your system settings).
