SpellForce 2 Hardware Patch 1.2

This Patch Updates all SpellForce 2 Games (Shadow Wars, Dragon Storm, Dragon Storm Stand Alone, Gold Edition, Hero Edition, Faith in Destiny and Demons of the Past) to work better with your current modern hardware and includes Widescreen support.
You can change the screenlanguage at any time in the upper right corner.

- Updates and registrated the currently used CPU + GPU in all SpellForce installations
- fixes most starting issues on modern systems
- Adds Widescreen config for SF2-SW, SF2-DS, SF2-Gold and SF2-Hero

- added config.xml creation to fix possible start up issues for Users of the "Anniversary Edition" on Steam and GoG

what me confuses is, that normal spellforce 2 dragon storm patch is 2.01

wouldn't this patch downgrade version 2.01 to 1.2 or do I have a misunderstanding here?

100% missunderstanding, this patch can be applied to any game of the SF2 series and updates/upgrades the Hardware Database and config initalisation. The game version of the games stay untouched.

Hardware Patch did not work, not for me!

In the Past ~2016 I had:
[INFO][app]: SpellForce2 Final Build: 125055

today I have:
[INFO][app]: SpellForce2 Final Build: 85906

WTF??!

I have Spellforce2_2_01_Patch and Spellforce2_QuanticLab_Patch!
Is this the same?
I have installed both, nothing?!

Is there a difference between Spellforce2 Anni and Gold edition?
Did I have first Anni and now gold?
..............I give up!!!!

Gold Edition is the original SpellForce 2 base game addon 1 version of 2008.
You need the Hardware patch so that it runs on modern hardware without much issues.

The Anniversary Edition is just SF2 Demons of the Past with the campaign files of SF2 Gold copied over but with all the bugs of DotP.

I have not installed SpellForce2-Demons of the past and

The 3 steps of fixing SpellForce 2 Anniversary Edition for you:

1. revert the game to its original gold edition state:

3. start the game and enter one of the keys mentioned at step 1 but DO NEVER EVER enter the options of the game. They will reset and cause issues on modern hardware if you do.

Thanks for the help, I think I have it now, but in the past I used the resolution 1920x1080 through in-game options, now I only have 3 small Resolutions in the menue!
But I configured the configuration file and then set it to be write-protected!

Can you also play the basic campaign in the extensions, so how do you play the Spellforce 2 package of 3 parts correctly?

It is clearly stated on the shop pages, that these are stand alone games with an own engine version and other developers for the game. Please just read!

LOL, I have read so much, but a lot is not really described, for example the order of the extensions is not described, in my library it is in the wrong order.
SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars is never mentioned or why you should play the gold edition, where Anni is actually newer .....

Please start it with admin permissions (directly start as admin) and then wait for the Patch to find the game(s).
