No, but you like to cpycat things. Even the last screenshot you show on the main selling page is a very close copy of one of sunshine moments, where there's the sun and the planet in front of it.
Yeah sure, but even if your thought is right there's still a total lack of innovation for this product, and in that case even worse than previous pledges.
You sound like a needlessly cynical old man.
Looks like the truth is hard to handle for someone.
I agree, what really sucks is that someone deny the evident. I prefer a dev who says: "I am a big fan of that film and I wanted to create something similar, but I can't pay millions for the franchise so I do it this way"; big respect in that case, but this dev really wanted to mock people.
As mentioned in the demo some of the features are light at the moment, the game is still in development so things are being added. That said the demo has just been patched and you should now find some basic resolution support. In the same menu you can also change DOF and turn effects on and off. Effects are slight helmet distortion, noise and some bloom effects. Smoothing options are also available and can be disabled if your rig is chugging, along with FPS lock. The games been built with 16:9 aspect ratio in mind so only these types of settings will be available.
Thanks again for your feedback :D
Ok I was able to finish the Demo! It looks you are in a creepy old abandoned ship. I really enjoyed the atmosphere.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icarus
Icarus is an old Greek myth about the son of a master craftsman who's dad builds him wings, and despite his dad saying not to fly too high (the sun would melt the wax used in the wing's construction) or too low (the sea's dampness would 'clog his wings' and make him too heavy to fly)-- despite these warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, his wings melted and he fell into the sea.
Therefore, anyone who invokes the name of Icarus and imagery of the sun, is invoking the imagery of a myth that is over 2000 years old.
This includes the writers of the movie Sunshine. So Sunshine was hardly the epitome of originality.
While we're at it,
In 2016, there's a movie that was just released in April, entitled "Icarus"
In 2016 WeMade Entertainment released Riders of Icarus
In 2014, WeMade Entertainment released Icarus Online, a video game.
In 2012, Linken Park penned "Leave out all the rest", a song (and music video) that was inspired by Sunshine.
Also in 2012, Muse Games released a game, "Guns of Icarus" in the "Flight of the Icarus" series
In 2010, a movie was released called, "Icarus"
In the 90s, Nintendo released "Kid Icarus" on the Gameboy.
It's also mentioned as the Starship name (Icarus) in "Planet of the Apes 3" (the '68 release)
There's a film short called "Icarus Down."
There's an Icarus Studios.
There's an Icarus Films.
Torrent King event has a "reference to icarus" movie list, which includes a number of movies that simply reference Icarus (like Sunshine)
Heck, Icarus is mentioned in Dragon Ball Z.
My advice-- try to do a little research before you start blasting someone for lack of originality. The world actually started before you were born, and will continue long after you're gone.
"There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitly; but they are the same old pieces of color glass that have been in use through all the ages."
-- Attributed to Mark Twain
The last screenshot sure is a genuine new idea.... it's just a copy of this:

Everybody can see how this is not just an "inspiration"... and the name is just the finger, you can't see the moon behind it. Hipster. And hidden profile, classic and pathetic, someone who lesson others and stay behind a hidden curtain.
Unsubbed. Cut each other throats now fanboys.
You can claim strawman if you want, but the point of my argument wasn't to strawman your position, but instead to claim your argument is false attribution.
If you want to get into a point by point debate about the differences between Sunshine and this game, we can. If your only similarities are "ship name, nearby star, space" the list of differences will far exceed the list of similarities.
Please begin.
