I had some good fun with this game while I got most of the way through the first campaign before I then realised that yes, things like health bars, mana bars, tooltip descriptions (including damage values and costs), unit selection rings, and, hell, *attack move*, were actually supposed to be a thing.

That last one was actually my fault for not properly reading the manual; the rest were a problem of v1.61 that you have to switch to the publictest version to solve.

So yes, fairly good game. Interesting mix of realtime small-party RPG progression with a character perspective view and a full Warcraft-style base-build RTS with an eye-in-the-sky view. Every single line of spoken dialogue being voiced was an unusual surprise. Graphically didn't age too badly.

Lots of plot details tie to eachother in some way. Final scene was jarringly quick, but a fairly neat ending.
