AFK XP farming? (Aryn Campaign)
As the title says, I'm wondering if there are any decent spots to just leave your character, alt tab the game, and have them farm mobs to gain xp. The Breath of Winter campaign is not very balanced for organic leveling it seems, despite doing all the content I'm always one to two levels short of using the new runes you find in chests when you enter a new map. I know that the best spots depend a lot on build and level so a general farming spot for specific level range would be appreciated. That being said, my current char is a level 21 black magician.

Barring that I was wondering if there are any level/xp commands that I can just put in the console, I have looked online and all have found are mostly outdated CE stuff.

Abyss has also some relentless reinforcements, but with squishy wood elves it's easy to get overwhelmed by steadily growing amount of frost resistant werewolves.
I would also add Tirganach to the mix. There are numerous spawns you can utilize at different points of the campaign, with some enemies that won't respawn in other locations. In fact, the whole location combined, if farmed fully, will provide you with at least 10 levels worth of exp.

I think it's worth mentioning that in campaign the enemies have an EXP pool that depletes every time you kill a unit of a type (In the sense of *each unit* not *kind* of unit) so don't take too long, it'll just waste time. At some point units won't give Exp anymore. If you're on 1.54 and use Extended UI you can check how much Exp you can get from each unit. Otherwise I probably wouldn't do that method for more than 10-15 minutes depending on if enemies will reoccur on another map or not.
In vanilla there's a hard cap of 500 kills, to be exact. Before that the number goes down gradually until it eventually reaches 0 after 500th kill.

Hmm, seems like I might just have to bite the bullet and grind in Shal'Dun, then leave and equip the new runes once I hit lvl 22.

haven't played shadow of the Phoenix yet, so please tell me that isn't as bad as Aryn in this regard!

alt tab will make your game not run in the background if i remember correctly. I would just use console to increase speed to like 30 or 50 and leave it for 5 minutes or so

AppSession:SetTimeMultiplier(X)

X = 3 if you still want to maintain control, 10 for just "Gimme", 1 for normal ^^ Everything after 10 doesn't really accelerate more as far as I noticed.

I would make a backup save make sure you have strong towers and unit defences make sure you visit every camp(do not kill buildings) so every scout(yellow ping) unit will alert their camps.

And make the time fast by 10x with the above command.
Maybe you can even try 30x.
(too much can crash the game).

Usually, 2-3 hours is enough to dry out the spawns on hard difficulty.

So 15-20 mins is likely enough to dry them on 10x.

"dry" means they will spawn very slowly not worth farming them.

Important"hard" difficulty has faster and more spawns enemies so also more exp.
Few spawn points are hard mode only.

Usually+3-4 a level difference over the normal difficulty by the endgame if you spent the same time on a map.

So hard difficulty can end up with a stronger avatar making the game easier if you do not die.......

I've finished this game quite a few times.I can give a few tips.
1. Build army and base to the max you can.
2. Put Heroe's and army (preferably archers ) in a corner of the base
3. Build towers ( a lot ) on the path where enemy comes, make like a choke point.
( you can put the army behind your towers also )
4. Leave your game on and go do something else ( at least 3 hours ) I would just leave it on at night , or when I wen't to work. When I came back the choke point would be full of bodies with loot and the hero would have 2-3 levels more.
5. After a point the enemy has a really slow spawn ,but it will still be enough if left on for a few hours.
6. You can do this on the first map ,build towers near the goblin camp , put archers behind them and boom.
7. Be careful not to overlevel if you wan't to play the sequel ( Shadow of the Pheonix )and wan't to transfer the character, there's a max level requirement ( I think 29-30 ).

In the phoenix campaing you have a good AFK opertunity on map 2 (first is without army, only heroes) and later some spots. Often AFK is not possible because the enemie comes with special building destructor units which devastate towerspam.
