Spellforce: BoW sub-quest: Bone Carver issue

Hi there

I have an issue with the Bone Carver quest. I simply can't continue the quest, nor can I make items at this bone altar. I had just killed the orc to obtain his bones and stuff, I then moved on to Frostwall or something to gather the missing pages and then to this elven city to purchase some bone knives or something and do some bussines. While there I continued to accept other sub-quests and I traveled back to the bone altar. I can't continue the quest since it does not give me any options except telling me that my character doesn't know how to use it or somehting like that.

Just a few minutes later after looking for a character for a sub-quest I noticed that the character I am looking for is also the character I killed for the bone fragments.

Is there any way to fix this without reloading earlier save files. An editor to change what I have or haven't done of quests for example? Been far too long since last time I saved and I would really like to finish this game so I can start on Spellforce 2.

I think you killed a character that is necessary at almost all stages. You might advance with the console, but I don't know what flag you have to set.

EDIT: here's a quick fix list for some quest advancement through console. It's in german, though, and your problem is not listed. http://wiki.spellforce.de/bow/index.htm
just go to "sonstiges" and "quickfixliste"

Thank you very much. Too bad the game crashed before I saw this post. Good thing is I managed to finish the quest since I started the whole quest chain in the elven city. :)

I just had the same issue because I simply killed everything on that map at lvl 10 way before you get to that evlen ice city. Ghuldarkar already pointed you in the right direction:

The game should tell you to speak with that Ork you already killed. You have to solve and begin the diferent stages of the quest by console. I'm not sure if you have to "begin" the stages too but I'm too lazy to try that out now wanna keep on playing :D

You open the console in game by pressing CTRL +

Then you type: docript("GdsVariables") and press Enter (don't know what that does but you need to type it)

Now you type: QuestSolve{QuestId=xxx}
QuestBegin{QuestId=xxx}

Here are the ID's in order:
734 Talk to Ashgork
632 Free the city from its imperial captors
736 Inform Ashgork about the city and accept his deal (aka 10 fking Gold, alot at lvl 10!)
737 Get the first bone piece from Narzosh
741 Steal the second bone part from the ruins in Mirraw Tur (that 3 Head thing)
742 Follow Ashgork and steal the last bone part
743 Find a bone altar and craft your masterpiece

I solved and began in that order and my last command was QuestBegin{QuestId=743} then I went to Mirraw Tur and I could once again use the altar. Not sure if just the last line is needed but now I have a full quest log :D
