So you can play OOD or BOW in what ever order you want, then Phoenix last. Or you can skip one of the opening campains and just play the other then phoenix, what ever floats your boat.
It only says so because the "Shadow of the Phoenix" edition of the game (which you have) is a compilation of the orignal campaign (Order of Dawn) and both expansions to it (of which, Breath of Winter should be played first, and Phoenix - second). So, you're right. Don't let the small writing bother you.
