Breath of Winter was the first expansion followed by Shadow of the Phoenix, but I'm assuming you could play them in either order once you complete the main game.

Breath of Winter is the Aryn Campaign and that is second....

You know, I clicked on 'campaign' thinking it was the main game 'Order of Dawn' and I've been playing that for several missions now. But I just noticed the loading screen says 'Shadow of Phoenix' (which is the name of one of the two expansions), so now I'm not so sure. I can say, however, that if you click on 'campaign' it begins with a tutorial, and it follows exactly the walkthrough for Order of Dawn (needed some tips at first). Possibly 'campaign' is the entire game, including expansions?

Order of Dawn and Breath of Winter are the "pre phoenix" campains. They are both for starting characters, I consider OOD as the "light" character and BOW as the "dark" character. You'll have 2 totally seperate characters in these games. Phoenix is the follow up game, which picks up after the OOD/BOW campains and lets you import either character into it. So like OOD/BOW gets your characters level 1-30, and phoenix picks up and takes one of those characters (or you can create a new one, but not really a good idea).

So you can play OOD or BOW in what ever order you want, then Phoenix last. Or you can skip one of the opening campains and just play the other then phoenix, what ever floats your boat.

The question is which campaign to click on in the opening menu? The player is given the choices of 'campaign', 'aryn campaign', or 'phoenix campaign' -- like the OP, I assumed 'campaign' was the main game and 'aryan' and 'phoenix' referred to the expansions, to be played after completing the base game. I still think that's the case as I clicked on 'campaign' and it opened with a tutorial, but it's just odd that my loading screen says "Shadow of the Phoenix' as its subtitle.

It only says so because the "Shadow of the Phoenix" edition of the game (which you have) is a compilation of the orignal campaign (Order of Dawn) and both expansions to it (of which, Breath of Winter should be played first, and Phoenix - second). So, you're right. Don't let the small writing bother you.

Ah, I get it. Thanks.

Whenever you add an add-on, it displays the title screen of the newest one, and since the Platinum Edition has both add-ons, it takes the most recent one for the title screen, so 'Campaign' is The Order of Dawn and 'Aryn' is Breath of Winter, leaving 'Phoenix' as Shadow of the Phoenix...
