but there are mages that are better in sotp,
like mm mirror armies hc 15 or ranged, various combo types of necromancers,
(necro+mm defensive +ice or life or boons)
and death/earth/necro mages.
unfortunately standard maps dont provide all necessary spells,
not much of an issue for the paladin, but the mages sure need their
top of the line spells in a timely manner to shine

Do use the modded maps and data from ancient spellforce forum. Do like my reruns easy.
Honestly, i was thinking hc 15 wm 12+ as some cool weapon supposed to be in SotP.
Earth+bm seems interesting, will try :3
p.s. i'm hating on mind magic and ranged combat too much, no reason
it works like a charm to flip on thorn lv 20 and then aura of strength lv 20,
and watch monsters being obliterated as they hit you,
its much more powerful then beating each of them yourself.
there is no weapon or armor or hc shield you need,
almost everything is eligible by avatar level alone, and mage shields & staff
the one weapon that is uber is the hirin staff, but that one is put to better use as hc mirrors,
the paladin is more powerful with just strength & spells.
in sotp the earth spell has feet of clay, everyone get stuck in mud for 2 minutes,
during which time you can peacefully give each of them a pestilence shot
and carry on to next mob. this build should really be power leveled
so you can primarily use clay of feet + pestilence,
with petrify + suicide death as backup for the highest bosses.
emphasis on earth & then death, with necro travel behind,
eventually all = lv 20
