No cd-key

Last time I played this game was about 2 years ago, back then the cd-key just popped up when I started the game via the steam overlay. Right now it doesn't pop up and I can't find my cd-key anywhere. Even after I right click on the game in the library.

From what I gathered, the CD Key requirement has been removed in the latest patches.

Then why is the game still asking me for the CD-Key? I patched the game, redownloaded it and verifyed the files. Still nothing.

First: check your version and which beta you're using.
If you're on 1.54 and it still asks for the cd key, use this: 4Y7YP-5E7U3-2UWR5-GT0KM-ZDAJI
