GameSpy prompt eachtime I start the game - any way to disable this???

Hi Folks, I have no issues playing the game - enjoying it immensely actually - my issue is that, each time I start the game, STEAM launches into the installation for GameSpy which I do not want to install (what is it for anyway, GameSpy is dead, isn't it?)

Does anyone know how to stop it from coming up, without having to install the buggy software, so that I can launch straight into the game?

its for online crap.dont know how to disable.try deleting from game folder.

pretty sure you can't do it w/o it. it's just something from the old school. when you're installing just be sure to read and uncheck all the crap you don't want and gamespy most likely won't bother you with anything ever.

I solved it deleting the ''Gamespy'' folder in the game folder..

hit Cancel... and move on... i didnt install the Dead GS :l

Shame that GameSpy was cancelled. Lots of good old games worked thru that. Serious Sam was a good example. Still i try that "delete/misplace" installer from folder. Hope it help.
