For me is best playing on Nightmare (all card could be unlocked) with Powermad utility which allows play all 24 + 10 levels on all difficulties.
I am slowly getting used to this soul collecting, but it definitely changes to flow of gameplay, since it is hard to tell really on my part whether it is a burden or a stimulus, minding each soul provides one halth point back. Soul collecting forces players prefering more defensive fighting style to come forth, otherwise the souls will disappear before they can be collected. Somehow I think I was doing better on Trauma difficulty, knowing health regeneration is sparse, thus playing more carefully, with souls making it feel more casual, which actually is an illusionary impression, as it is a thing to be rushed for, provoking reckless moves. Demon form thusfar I find little useful, typically appearing wrong time, wrongly matching the pace of my proceeding.
