Do I have to crack the game to run it on Wine?

I tried navigating to where the game was installed on my Windows machine and doing

 wine Bin/Painkiller.exe 

I got the error 'Application load error 5:0000065434'.

Then I tried running the Windows version of Steam over wine and launching Painkiller from there, but the game loads the first level slowly and I get about 10 frames per second.

The drivers issue effectively meant I had to make the choice between recording gameplay footage without audio glitches (before a fix for DX9), and some old games running (fix for DX9, but the recorder has audio issues).

I don't have your machine here with me so i can't fix you problem...

The game work very well on windows 7 x64 and x86.
