Painkiller: Black Edition

Proper Difficulty for Painkiller?
So, I've been playing the game on Trauma, only to discover that certain parts of the game are blocked off or removed? I know that "Soul", whatever that is, is now disabled, making it impossible to get Black Tarot cards, but I've read online about certain chapters or acts being gone too.

I'd much rather play the full game for my first playthrough instead of having parts of it disabled for a challenge.

So, my question is, what's the next highest difficulty I can play at that'll let me play all the parts of the game? Nightmare? Insomnia?

Thanks.

On Nightmare difficulty you get access to most of Painkiller levels except for "Forest" level which is only available on Trauma difficulty. Chapter five is not available on Trauma difficulty.

There are two endings in this game. You get the same ending on Daydream, Insomnia and Nightmare difficulties. If you finish the game on Trauma you will get a completely different ending.

Hmmm, okay. Well, what do you recommend? I just finished The Opera House on Trauma. Should I push through on Trauma and then save Nightmare for a 2nd play through? Or start a Nightmare playthrough and finish Trauma later?

Hmm... I would go with Nightmare and finish Trauma playthough later. It's just that endings will make much more sense if you play PK in this order.

P.S. Also you can transfer all unlocked tarot cards from Nightmare to Trauma.

Before Black Edition you couldn't even play Trauma difficulty from the beginning. You had to open every Black Tarot cards to unlock this difficulty, therefore Trauma playthrough was naturally started with all cards available. So PainkilleR is right about playing Nightmare and then Trauma.

It's a shame that devs unlocked Trauma in Black Edition from the start. Many games are still using difficulty unlocking (Resident Evil and Dead Space come to mind).
