Can't start game

I can't figure out how to run this game. I've tried using both launch options and all that happens is I can play all 4 cinematics and then I get a crash to desktop saying "has stopped working". I would appreciate highly if anyone can help me fix this :) I wanted to play all the games in the series one by one.

I used to have the same problem. For me this worked out:

1. Go to your game's register, so e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Europa 1400 The Guild - Gold Edition

2. Look for the Europa1400 Gold.exe and right click it --> Properties

3. Second tab should be "compatibility" or something (Sorry, my OS aint English...)

4. Select "Execute program in compatibility mode" and choose "Windows XP, Servicepack 3"


Then try to start the game, should work from both, steam and by starting the .exe directly.
