Even in it's broken state, something kept drawing me back. I just knew there was a far beyond average game burried beneath the bugs.
Many of us "Morrowind Fanatics" wanted a Morrowind 2.0 , but what we got was Oblivion ( and later Skyrim). I tell all my fellow die hard Morrowind fans that Gothic 3 is the game to play ( with community path 1.75 of course).
I really think that if Gothic 3 could be MODed like Morrowind it would be much more popular.
I really want to get into it because I remember how deeply I enjoyed Gothic 2 (and Morrowind) but this would be the FOURTH time I install Gothic 3...I don't see what will be different this time.
G3 in particular has a certain quality that keeps on bringing you back to it. Every few months or so I reinstall it and spend 2 weeks obsessively completeting every possible side quest and clearing out every cave. The ending kind of sucks but the journey is unparalleled.
Serious kudos to the community patch for fixing the game, and also the Quest pack, which add hours of extra gameplay to the already substantial world.
Def my favourite RPG; even though I own Skyrim I have never really been interested enough to finish it or explore it as fully as Gothic 3.
I couldnt play any other open world rpg than Gothic 1-2-3 I played Skyrim meh i got bored :/
Yeah, sure.
Planescape Torment is great in its kind (Isometric rpg)
Vampire Bloodlines & Pathologic I have both retail versions and both are bug mess.
Never had any problems with VMB, and Pathologic needs an official patch 1.1. to be applied to enjoy the game. At least, its official. But perhaps the lousy English or German translation brings down an overall fantastic experience too much.
