Console not opening
Hi! The ge3.ini file is edited to:
[Game]
TestMode=true

But when I press tilde key, nothing happens. I tried switching keyboard layouts (dunno if they actually were switched in game) but nothing changed.

Does anyone have any advice?

If you have community patch, try typing "marvin" ingame.

Tried to input "marvin" again several times, the last time a text appeared "marvin mode activated", but still no console while pressing "~".

Also, cheats work. F6 speeds up time and F8 resets stats, but console won't open.

I think you need to edit the Ge3.ini and enable Testmode for the console to work.

I did an online search and found that I'm not the only one who's done everything and the console still won't open. Sadly I did not find a solution. I tried reinstalling the game, tried it without the latest patch, tried to change keyboard layouts, but no changes.

That's an old thread, but since I'm experiencing the exactly same problem, there is no use in creating an identical topic.

I edited true/false Testmode
Tried Marvin in the game
There are no Infrared devices in my system, and it's not a laptop anyways
I've tried an original game fresh from Steam, as well as with 1.75 patch and/or Update Pack. Tilde doesnt open the console in either of them.
I have _compiledImage folder and _Intern inside of it.
ctrl + S works as it should
I have no additional devices attached to my desktop right now, no gamepads and such
no Caps Lock on or Scroll Lock on
my keyboard and mouse are fairly standard ones, not wireless

I even launched the game in compatibility mode with previous OCs, like Win XP, and it did nothing.

Tilde doesn't work no matter what. Cannot open the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ console.

F_ck YEAH! Cracked the case!

After the cited message, I even tried remapping the tilde key with AutoHotkey just in case,
and downloaded additional drivers for my Logitech keyboard. To no avail.

Surfing in German helped. Apparently germans can open their console in latest patches with combination of Left Shift + Right Shift + Pos1. Equivalent of Pos1 in English keyboard is Home.

Left Shift + Right Shift + Home opened the d_mned console in my game, finally!!
