Are you by any chance loading from the DVD? I'm asking becaue this seems to be a very old problem. I've only seen really old threads regarding this issue.
I know there are only really old thread on this, that's why it's so frustrating.
1. Downloaded the Game
2. Applied the Community Patch
3. Played the English version for a while
4. Decided to switch language
5. Steam automatically downloaded an "Update" (presumably containing the voiceover data for the newly selected language)
6. Had no text
1. In Steam's game preferences, decide which language you want to play in
2. Make a backup of your savegame and INI located at
4. Restore your INI and savegame if need be
5. You might have to switch "Alternative Balancing" on or off, depending on your savegame's original context
Sorry, i think i didn't convey what i meant clearly enough.
When you switch the language in Library -> Gothic 3 -> Right click -> Properties -> Language Tab after you installed CP, the text seems to be missing.
That is due to the "Gothic_3_EE_Patch_v1.75.14_Int_Full.exe" setup routine detecting what language you selected.
So for instance, if you install the CP right after you downloaded the game via Steam,
it detects "English" and installs the text for the english version only.
So, if you want to play in a different language, switch language inside steam and run the "Gothic_3_EE_Patch_v1.75.14_Int_Full.exe" again to install the missing text files.
Have you tried this?
