- Bow (DEX) or crossbow (STR) are very valid builds for G3, and certainly the most enjoyable.
Like if I cant install a simple patch.
Strongest character you can get is a mage. You will burn through mana potions alot, but once you get mana regeneration, you're essentially a god.
2nd best option is 2h weapons. Get your strength to 400 asap, then get Krush Irmak from Silden, it's the best weapon in the game. It has highest dmg of all weapons, and longest range, so you will be killing things before they can reach you - even fuccing ogres!
I haven't tried shield+1h or dual wield yet, but short melee weapons aren't effective against most enemies.
Archers kinda suck, crossbows are even worse. Also hit detection is messed up in this game. Hit boxes are smaller than visible models, so you will see arrows pass through enemies without hurting them all the time.
You have to be careful when you have companions though. everything that goes between you and your target it gets burned and killed.
orcs warriors, scouts, shamans, lionesses, and all other animals and undead - 1 shot.
elite warriors, ogre, mummy, lions gargoyle, dragons - 2 shots
Some characters needed a few more small shots like Xardas and zuben due to large health.
Fire-rain i never used it due to taking longer to cast and not very effective.
Summon daemon is good as long as you are away from populated areas. any friendly characters goes hostile towards him when summoned, so not used too much.
Killing any animal or undead first shot it doesn't trigger them to attack you.
Orcs and humans are triggered to attack you even if you kill each first time first shot.
When you attack a city is good to be somewhere a bit higher up so you have unobstructed range and the hostiles walks slower towards you
PS. i have learned forging pure magic ore weapons and i have found 2 pure ore blanks and forged the rune sword first and later on sword of ancestors. i also had the blueprint of The power of ancestors too but i didn't have the 2 handed fighting skill for it
