Mission 8 won't unlock?

I just finished Mission 7, when I rest at the fireplace there's no conversation that occurs, and when I go to the table to try and start the mission, the Polaroid square is grey like there's no mission there and I can't select it.

There is an option to press the R key and simply sit in the chair with no conversation occuring, could it be that you have pressed R instead of E?

I've never encountered this issue before, but I do know if you replay the previous mission one or two times the next one should unlock.

Weird then. Restarting the game fixed it though.
