Tower Unite
Dropbox images never load
I keep seeing suggestions that Dropbox is the way to go for hosting canvas images, so I thought I'd give it a shot. But any image I try to use just turns into a loading symbol and never actually loads. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what.

I upload the image, create a sharing link, tell it that anyone with the link can view the file, then copy the link into the game. Is there an image-specific version of Dropbox I'm supposed to be using, or something?

Does the link end in .jpg or .png ?
I haven't used dropbox but Tower Unite must have the direct link to the file itself which will end in the image type.
It should be called "Direct Media Link" or something similar.

Ah, I bet that's it. There's a tiny bit of of extra code at the ends after the extensions that I'm pretty sure I could just remove.

From what I know, Dropbox won't give you a direct link to things anymore. I'd recommend hosting images on something like imgur or vgy.me
I got it to work. I had to open the image in my Dropbox in Chrome, and then right-click and get the image's direct URL that way. Some ungodly string of code. No file extension at the end of it, though - but there was a ".png" somewhere in the middle. Punched that URL into Tower Unite and it worked.

Had to get the URL in Chrome specifically, because Edge (don't ask) wouldn't give me the option.

I used to do that, but it gets too repetitive.
So I switched to imgur, not sure if images expire or not, but it's what's recommended.

Too cluttered. I can copy things to albums, but can't just organize them into folders. It's also much easier to upload images to Dropbox from a tablet. That's why I wanted to switch away from imgur in the first place.
