Just make sure you remove the shortcut from your desktop or OS
It installs a shortcut and when you click it. it somehow goes into a loop trying to get internet access. I denied the access and the next time I tried to start it up.

It went like crazy so removing it from the shortcut bar or windows bar. solved it.
But such a trojan or spyware shouldn´t have been included in game.
Honestly not, don´t know what´s up with games and workshop products.
First was Mordheim now Warhammer 40k kill team.

Guess they just like to collect data from users unsollicitated :P

It has happened with other games to. Just send a message to steam that the game is infected with a screen shot from the antivirus program and steam(who has much more clout than you and me) will inform the manufacture of the game of the virus in their code. "It will get fixed"...

It has done with every other game I had the problem with(Though once it took 3 months and my virus scanner drove me completly batty).

You are welcome cause it is my gaming laptop nothing but games on it.
So I don´t care anymore what malicious software they keep creating.
Since the new generation laptop no longer even has a hardware wifi switch.

So privacy is definetly out these days. but this trojan spyware is a bit too much.
More then not I have to restart the game 3x in task manager shutdown.
Just to play this game. cause it has been denied internet access.

This kind of spyware is really not wanted. and atleast have a common decency to say it include 3rd party software. this for a indie company bleh.

Bhaalspawn is either a troll or not the smartest person. If an antivirus-software detects something it basically means nothing.

No its not a damn trojan

If its a problem submit the exe to NOrton to get it white listed

Apparently you do not know how antivirus software works. It is the most useless kind of software on this planet. They can't detect 90% of harmful software but often raise false alarm (and massively slow your system down and randomly delete important files). They are just vaguely comparing signatures with their bad and outdated database. Look what in the history of antivirus-software was identified as malware already: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antivirus_software#Problems_caused_by_false_positives

Ultimately the problem is neither of us can proof or disproof that the game contains malicous software. All I know is the developers have been suspicously quiet about this.

Because Norton is detecting thbe false positve, not the devs. Get your anti-virus vendor to fix the false positive.

Norton is crap and is bogging your system down. Reformatting is the correct answer, but because short of a specific exe Symantec doesn't like giving out, you can't trly remove Norton from your system without said reformat. Go with Sophos Home or Avira Free, and quit trusting AV software that installs and acts like a virus.

You mean the Antivirus that labels other Antivirus programs as viruses? You're clearly not very wise
