Well our original guesses that the business was in strife was correct. We can only hope they can cobble together a new team and keep things going.
-=unqfrk=-
Here is to hoping a new team gets put together for a patch or multiplayer gets put together. The game has potential. Just a bit repetative at times.
I'd say you guys either like what you bought or move on, the company is gone.

It tells that they are not dead yet, but they are operating with a skeleton crew. It is a bit like Full Control the makers of Space Hulk I suppose. These tyranids are merciless to developers.
Rodeo games put out a substandard game at an overinflated price. This could have been easily resolved by delaying release by a few months and doing some serious QA and revamping of some key areas (adding in proc-gen missions once the main campaign was over, fully fleshing out the extra chapters, etc).
This is capitalism at work, you either put out a product people want to buy or you go under.
Thanks Gladred, that's how I read previous articles. Just such a shame they didn't make this known sooner. As is said in the article "The team will continue to support our existing titles." Hopefully this means we'll finally see the desperately needed patches...one day.
Sadly my understanding is Full Control did pretty much shut down, but patches as necessary would be made by the original dev.
This is very true. How many posts have we seen to this discussion board either asking is the game as buggy as they've heard, stating they won't buy because of the bugs or rightfully complaining about the bugs and then asking for a refund?
If I remember correctly, the game was even released a week early. What could they have done in that week? Considering the first patch came out after a week, they could have at least released the game with a few less game breaking bugs.
[EDIT: Added reply to Hobbes along with reply to galdred]
Now, I consider myself a rather large critic of this game. But I disagree with the notion that they could have easily resolved these issues with more months of work - especially if funding was an issue. They most likely released early/on time because they had to. They probably didn't have the money to keep paying their staff, and were hoping the income from launch could sustain the studio for the few more weeks/months it would take to fix all their issues. It didn't, this is also most likely why they were only able to offer support for the first few months, and why they laid off everyone except for a skeleton crew.
Good chance it would have been next to nothing. Especially considering they weren't able to fix the majority of these bugs to this day, not to mention in patches that came months after the game launched. They probably just needed the money to keep afloat.
And they started with a 3 man team. didn´t wanted to sell DLC or graphic models APP purchase in Hunters 2. or story expansions.
And even war hammer quest. I love that one. didn´t had the upgrades needed. (ogre balance somebody? )
I guess the end was in sight. with this game that is totally overbalanced and they forget the fun factor. but concentrate on ripping people off with purchases.
Shame Rodeo Games could have been so fabulous if they sticked with there own product.
I don´t mind DLC that comes out later. but guess GW just want to cut out content or sell unfinished DLC, must come with the GW license.
Another one bites the dust on GW license. and this team was so promising :( .
Especially on the IOS market.
Good news everyone \o/
Hope support also means maybe some new content :X
would be nice to hear something of them.. and also maybe a mod that cleans out that whole "game is a virus and sucks" threads..
