I really enjoyed Deathwatch. I originally played the game on PS4, when I was on a 40k kick and bought pretty much everything 40k on PS4.
I just recently purchased the Steam version during the Warhammer sale last week.

Although I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the missions, and more story content, but over all the gameplay is pretty solid. I think its a much more fun game then Warhammer Quest 2. In some ways you get attached to your marines, and as you level them up they sort of develop personalities (in your head) from the way you play them and what skills they unlock. A perma death mode would be very cool for hardcore runs.

So yea, I'd be all for a Deathwatch 2, if it was done right.

Me too. I'm about to take my 5th team through all the missions, Normal to Heroic. It's like you say - when you play with the same team it matters if they die. If you play strict (no farming), the loss of hard-earned xp is bad enough, but you also don't want to see them 'humiliated' with that sad death, falling forward. :-(

"Perma death"? How would that work when you lose a marine on Heroic? You can't really replace him with a lvl 1 guy.
Playing Deathwatch in iOS is as hardcore as this game gets: half the xp & you can only use a bomb once/mission.

Yes please, devs - pick up this title again.

Uhm, how about NO!
Think Rodeo died anyway. I believe they had another mobile game they put everything into after this one, failed, and went bankrupt.

Also, believe this game started as a mobile game and they ported it over. It got pushed super hard, early, and buggy, as hell. Pretty sure, they were bankrupt when they released this game with hope a big launch day would save them. It might have, however being little known company with only a tiny, spotty, mobile portfolio, few took the risk on it's hefty price tag.

Launch week was hell, game was unplayable, they managed to get it mostly playable, but then they vanished. They put everything into another mobile game having abandoned this one completely within a week and a half of launch. From what I gathered, it failed, basically for same reason, and Rodeo closed their doors.

Even though, the game is beautiful and fun, for the most part, Rodeo's history appears to be a quick cash grabs and run off to another.

A new Dev making this into what it should be, would be great, though.

I see. That doesn't sound good at all. Like you said, then: would be great if some new developer could dust off this game and fix it & develop it further.

Wish it had Workshop..!

Maybe another Dev/Publisher could pick it up? I hear there are quite a few churning out quality WH 40k games. ;)

On a personal note, as an Imperial Fist Legion fan, it COMPROMISES MY CALM that the Extended Edition added Chapters only go up to Tier 2. I have both the Black Templar Assault Veteran and the Imperial Fists Devastator Veteran(he came with his own IF Heavy Bolter) and although their abilities are nice, they are overshadowed by all Tier 4's... but only some Tier 3's surprisingly.

I'd wish a dev studio like the ones that made Deathwing or Gladius would pick this here up, finish what's already there and add on to that.

Well, one can dream.

If think they did a really good job with the game. I love how the space marines converse with each others. I love the collection and team building. THere are some hiccups here and there, some difficulty curves, but all in all its a fun game and I recomend it to everyone who likes Wh 40k

My main issue with it is that v-sync doesn't work so the frame rate gets insanely high and being a somewhat rough and early iteration of UE4, my GPU gets too hot. If V-sync worked the capping at 60fps would mitigate it but its at about 120-200fps.

Regarding VSync, open your "Steam/commons/Warhammer 40,000 Deathwatch - Tyrannid Invasion/deathwatchgame/Config" folder and open the file "DefaultGameUserSettings". Set "bUseVSync=false" to "bUseVSync=True".

Et Voilà!

Ah, i actually got it fixed using another thread near the top here, shortly after i posted my last message. But good that there are other solutions.

So yes, Rodeo is defunct, and ad for their mobile game, it was same engine, and concept but like, space mercenaries with a cyberpunk-ish kinda universe and it came before DW. I played the ♥♥♥♥ outta that game on my old ipod touch, gen 1 or 2 touch. They basically took all the good things from that game and remade it to fit 40k needs and upped the quality of story but alas they really took a hit with that other game and lets face it, Deathwatch wasnt a GOTY title, although good, just wasnt good enough to save em.

Edit: So ouch, the did make an ios DW, so that means they made 3 games that were roughly the same that just didnt take off. Way to go down swinging.....

Yeah, I started playing DW on IOS, along with Warhammer Quest. Both of which I enjoyed through my entire high school life. And still to this day every now and then.
The problem wasn't that they were bad games, they just didn't have enough content.
And the Enhanced DW went half assed on the new factions, especially dark wings, which really ticked me off honestly.

But I think the game could be revised and revived if they, or another company came back to it. It had potential, it was just done poorly. I only got the enhanced version because of how big a Fan I was in high school.

Compared to all the other 40k games that I've played that are like spacehulk and what not this it's the best one so far until Battlesector comes out. Now for the crap parts. No brightness controls. Bare minimum graphic controls for an unreal game LOL. The UI is very bland and bare bones with no tool tips and the other half of the UI is at the top of the screen for no reason even though the overlays could be combined at the bottom since they use very little room.

Deathwatch 2 would probably do better.
