I just recently purchased the Steam version during the Warhammer sale last week.
Although I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the missions, and more story content, but over all the gameplay is pretty solid. I think its a much more fun game then Warhammer Quest 2. In some ways you get attached to your marines, and as you level them up they sort of develop personalities (in your head) from the way you play them and what skills they unlock. A perma death mode would be very cool for hardcore runs.
So yea, I'd be all for a Deathwatch 2, if it was done right.
"Perma death"? How would that work when you lose a marine on Heroic? You can't really replace him with a lvl 1 guy.
Playing Deathwatch in iOS is as hardcore as this game gets: half the xp & you can only use a bomb once/mission.
Yes please, devs - pick up this title again.
Uhm, how about NO!
Think Rodeo died anyway. I believe they had another mobile game they put everything into after this one, failed, and went bankrupt.
Also, believe this game started as a mobile game and they ported it over. It got pushed super hard, early, and buggy, as hell. Pretty sure, they were bankrupt when they released this game with hope a big launch day would save them. It might have, however being little known company with only a tiny, spotty, mobile portfolio, few took the risk on it's hefty price tag.
Launch week was hell, game was unplayable, they managed to get it mostly playable, but then they vanished. They put everything into another mobile game having abandoned this one completely within a week and a half of launch. From what I gathered, it failed, basically for same reason, and Rodeo closed their doors.
Even though, the game is beautiful and fun, for the most part, Rodeo's history appears to be a quick cash grabs and run off to another.
A new Dev making this into what it should be, would be great, though.
I see. That doesn't sound good at all. Like you said, then: would be great if some new developer could dust off this game and fix it & develop it further.
On a personal note, as an Imperial Fist Legion fan, it COMPROMISES MY CALM that the Extended Edition added Chapters only go up to Tier 2. I have both the Black Templar Assault Veteran and the Imperial Fists Devastator Veteran(he came with his own IF Heavy Bolter) and although their abilities are nice, they are overshadowed by all Tier 4's... but only some Tier 3's surprisingly.
I'd wish a dev studio like the ones that made Deathwing or Gladius would pick this here up, finish what's already there and add on to that.
Well, one can dream.
Et Voilà!
Edit: So ouch, the did make an ios DW, so that means they made 3 games that were roughly the same that just didnt take off. Way to go down swinging.....
The problem wasn't that they were bad games, they just didn't have enough content.
And the Enhanced DW went half assed on the new factions, especially dark wings, which really ticked me off honestly.
But I think the game could be revised and revived if they, or another company came back to it. It had potential, it was just done poorly. I only got the enhanced version because of how big a Fan I was in high school.
