I'm trying tuttle style too and so far it's sadly as much of a joke as PorkNasty says. I routinely lose the stamina battle despite the fact I've had 10, maybe 12 stamina, while fighting opponants who never have more than 9. The "way of the turtle" Is just a less effective way of the bear, where you throw knock out punches and hope to beat your opponant before you gas out. Except, thanks to the absurd stamina cost for all abilities, you will almost always gas out, and never secure a win.

I think Skip Attacks, Energizer, and Paw Punch are necessary to get going. It's important with Turtle to cram in as many skill points as you can early.

You must run out of stamina then. Early-mid, turtle way is very boring. I used only the kick that debuffs stamina and agi, and skip attacks. The rest for block and other stuff. Once the enemy run out of stamina and you still have many, you can remove skip attacks. Don't use stuff that makes enemy skip their attacks because you will attack instead and run out of stamina yourself. Once you have learned anti punch and anti kick, it's more interesting because you can defensively strategize versus different opponents. Once learned ultimate turtle skills, it's quite awesome.

Yeah you pretty much need skip attacks to make this work at all.
My first character went turtle and died horribly due to poor life choices too.
The second one who rushed skip attacks and additional slot to keep it equipped at all times has a better time.

It's kinda weird how the skilltree who is "all about them hyuge energies" doesn't have a mandatory freaking energy regeneration move and is prone to constantly running out of energy on its own.

absolutely agree, tried stamina and it was so frustrating that I started over, it seems to have no advantage at all
also the way the skill tree is set up you have to get 3 different punches that are basically the same, wasting a ton of skill points

I feel like the skill tree needs reorganizing. With a front load of force attack moves that will rapidly drain your energy at the start. And useful skills like accurate, cheap, hard hitting punches that gain bonus accuracy everytime they are dodged sitting close to the end. It's a long, rough grind to make the most of it.

Now that I've got much of the branch unlocked, the skill tree is shining for me in everyway you'd want. Sitting back and blocking opponant's blows with reduced damage buffs, and throwing punches that they have to block or dodge sucking away their energy, while you use Wait to suppliment your own, keeping your stamina topped off while you punch them to the ground over and over as they gas out. It's fun, but it's a long way to get there right now. Then again, I made the mistake of skipping the Wait move.
