The father splits the medallion between the player and the brother
The player grows stronger and corrupted by the medallion, ends up killing his brother
Then he takes over the city and destroys it
The father, along with his friends, who are the guy the player may met in prison or Russia and I think also the pizza guy and maybe mick?, fight his own son
Only the father survives and in the future gets cyborg parts
The father then uses the medallion to travel back in time
The father kills his old self -I have doubts about this part-, why not destroy the medallion?
The father brings the best fighters to an island so he can catch any fighter rising with the power of the medallion?
Cool Theory Zsedan but in all stories with time travel, that I can think of right now, when someone kills their self in the past they die as a result. But who is the man with the red eye? The story is very convoluted with a worse ending then Lost. But I still enjoy playing this game. And have done all 3 styles once.
Is that supposed to happen?
It's intended, once you finish the final story the game becomes unplayable for that character. No new game+.
As far as I saw it just exit the game, re-enter and you'll always be before the fight with Ryu (like every oldschool RPG).
Really? I never tried but I saw a dev post this days ago when someone asked about it:

Well I just force quit the game when I first saw that hourglass thing, restarted the game, and I was before the Ryu fight, although it's not recommended to force quit because it might ♥♥♥♥ up your game.
This is so silly I can't fathom that's really how the devs wrote the story. You can kick the muggers in the city, you can kick Big Bobo's ass, you can choose not to work for the Don and you can never end up in jail - how does that make our character grow corrupt with the Medallion's power?
This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and needs to be rewritten as it doesn't automatically apply to every single player playing the game, cause it does allow you to make choices. The only instance when the corruption part makes sense is if you go to jail and work with the mafia, those are pretty much the only bad things you can do in the game.
You pretty much understood it wrong, It happened in DIFFERENT timeline so your father went to your timeline and prevented the same from happening. In your timeline you DO NOT have the corrupted medallion cause your father from different timeline (man with the red eye) prevented your father giving the medallion by killing your timeline's father so that you cant grow strong and take the city under your control. Also it kinda explains why fluffy began super criminal and had the city under control (if you "avenge fluffy"), thats because he had the corrupted half of medallion. The man with the red eye wants to bring the best fighters to the island so he can get the medallion when someone comes with it and then destroys it. 1 thing just makes me wonder, my character didn't transfer to a complete overpowered psychopat after getting both halves.
- The video showed the other half of the medallion being corrupted, not the half that it pictured when you get it. Maybe it was the brother who became bad.
- The OP's time travel idea is the only thing that's making sense to me. Father traveled back in time to destroy the medallion, he had to kill his younger self to do this for some reason. Maybe this is why the medallion half didn't really do anything.
I DON'T KNOW!!!
The game was fun though.
...kinda found the cat story better than the main plot though
