Doesn't sound like you beat the game at all. None of this is applicable after half-way through the game.
When you're at the mansion, the only thing you do is trying to earn enough fame to fight the next dude.
And the money becomes useless because in the end you'll have 20.000 in your pockets.
This is exactly my experience. I had a STR-focused build. The first section of the game was fairly easy and enjoyable. When I got to Russia, it was incredibly difficult for me to get my stats ahead of the curve, and there wasn't any way to learn new skills to work around the need to gain stats. When I got the mansion, I had an incredibly grueling grind of fame and tons of useless money. Up until that point, I had enjoyed the game, but then I started to hate it. What is the point of forcing the players to grind fame?
In the end, in order to beat the game, I had to raise my agility and stamina until I had 16 STR, 10 AGI, and 16 STA. The guide at the beginning of the game lies -- it seems the only "good" build is one that incorporates or focuses on agility.
I'd also note that the game's "strategy" seems to be more or less random dice rolls. I went up against the movie studio ninjas using my STR build and the exact same techniques every time. Until I decided to use the agility magic potion, I would get defeated by the first ninja maybe two out of every five times. (That was with 16 STR, 8 AGI, and 16 STA.) I'm not convinced that most fights aren't just random dice rolls.
