I'm going to say no but that's a neat idea. Maybe DLC?

At the moment the game is based around a male protagonist.

Doesn't really matter, if iy "leaves for some hope", seeing as the guy isn't marked as a developer.

Heck.. If that's all it takes, someone else could come in here and state that maybe.. Just maybe.. The cat morphs and starts fighting as well - and you'd probably still end up hoping that'd happen..

Well, the female option is reasonable to expect.

The Mighty Morphing Cat Ranger is... okay, it's kinda awesome, but not as expected.

Can we have a female player character and a Mighty Morphing Cat Ranger? (If we must choose one, I choose the female character!)

Why would you want to be a female in this game? Something wrong with games having male-only protagonist in a fighting game? Is fighting something that's unmanly in today's gender bent world?

Probably the same retar*** white knight transgender playing female only characters in MMOs with big jugs because he wishes he was one...

From what i've seen of the game, i can't think of any gameplay advantages or interesting changes to add that could be tied to gender. Other than maybe starting stats, but those wouldn't last long at those values anyway.

I don't think there are any female fighters in the game at all. So its not one of these "we already have enemy females, lets let the player play as one as well" situations either. As ruiner linked, it does take effort to do... and i just realised at this point in the post that its a lot more work to do a playable female than it is to do an enemy female. Many more animations for things like workout machines. And then you have to ensure that all dialogue uses the correct gender.

And then the "i don't identify as male or female, can i be a fishtank?" messages start.

It would still be nice for female players to have a character they can actually relate to. Thats how immersion works. When my wife and I played Rainbow Six: Vegas in Coop, she was sad, that she HAS to play a man. In Vegas 2 she play as a female and that alone made it a better experience for her.

Some of the statements I read here are so full of frustration and hatred that those people should probably close steam and reflect themselves.

Also, of course it would be more work. But it would also show that there was effort made to include female players aswell as male players. A large part of the gamer society is female. So why not give them the chance to relate to the protagonist aswell? Just imagine the game would be the other way round. A female fighter. The immersion would definitly be different for a male player.

I'm pretty sure you could make a female character in R6 Vegas 1. I would remember if I couldn't.

This crap gets so old...not EVERY game has too take into account every race, religion, sex, etc....let the developers develop the game they want. If you like the concept and want to play it then do so....stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on developers because they did not do something you wanted in their game...especially a small game like this. If it is not your cup of tea, then skip said game and move on. Or....better yet...design your own that fits better to your liking. There are plenty of other games out in the sea...move along.

It comes down to money. Would the cost of adding those changes make them enough money to recoup these costs. Probably not. Game making is a business. Seriously, would you work a ton of overtime, for nothing? I know I sure wouldn't, I'd expect to be paid for that work.

If there are enough people that want it, do a petition, if you show there is enough people willing to ONLY buy the game if there is a female pixel art character, than they'd probably be willing to do it.
