as it seems, it´s more like a publisher-thing, rather then a dev-thing... this doesn´t make it better...
i really hope they gather ones wit and push the damn release-button
Wouldn't that be like a TellTale game doing the same thing? I mean part of the point of the game is the story, and how it's dynamic to a degree, but the overall plot stays the same. Why would they spoil that, and literally hold the release hostage at the same time?
Wow...I feel either really out of times with PC gaming, or like these guys are from another universe. PC gamers are the most unforgiving of all, I don't understand why you'd risk your release like this.
But then again, we'll be blamed if the game fails, and everyone involved will protest about how toxic the PC crowd is. Well...you're literally asking for it at this point. I feel genuinely sorry for the people that pre-ordered this game. None of their FAQ's or anything state that the game will be released to Twitch Streamers first, then spoiled for all, then released to the people that bought it. Wow...just wow.
I mean people don't want to tune in simply because you lot decided to add a story to the game, and by tuning in you're spoiling the story. Which, would make purchasing the game pointless after that.
Oh well, maybe we'll get lucky and EA will release Fight Night Champion 2 on PC. I'd love to play a good boxing sim on PC, if not, I'll just use my PS4. But, I don't think I can trust these guys and purchase their product at this point.
I could jokingly argue that since it's EA they may sell the boxing gloves and the ring as separate DLC. ;)
Bro, I bought Fight Night Champion right...like I bought the physical game from GameStop. I took it home and put it in my PS3 and jumped online to play my cousin. The game was like wtf are you doing? You can't play online hahaha, but for $9.99 you can unlock online mode. I was like wtf is this non-sense. Then after playing for a while, I tried to do an exhibition, the game again was like wtf are you trying to do? Exhibition mode is $9.99 fool.
All in all, after buying each "mode", and purchasing the boxers, I must have spent well over $100 on the game/modes/boxers. This wasn't even DLC, this was just straight up things that I thought came with the game lol.
But, it's such a solid damn game, I'd do it all over again, even though I'd hate myself for doing so, it's literally the only option when it comes to a good boxing game.
And the dev answer? Like, "wow we're not forcing you guys". I mean, dude. Dude. I dunno, the game seems nice, its the only reason I'm sticking to it, but those devs. Those devs.
That argument is played out. It's a copout, literally. It's the "there's nothing you can argue back with" argument. They may not be forcing anyone to purchase anything, but they're marketing, and placing their game for sale on a platform that is advertising it to me. They may not be forcing, but they certainly are asking. They asked, I answered though, not my fault if they don't like the answer, just like it's not their fault if we don't like their release methods. To each their own, but it's not my name, reputation, time, or money that's at risk.
