After the game crashes, can you send the games log file from:

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IceLakes\IceLakes_Data\output_log.txt
or similar location if Steam is now installed on default location.

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/CompanyName/ProductName/Player.log

Mac
~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log


You can send the log file to [e-mail]

I have buyied this game because of the Linux support but I can't catch any fish the LINE BRAKES everytime also on multiplayer I can't connect shows only Connecting and nothing happens.

I really want to play this games hope you can fix it.

I recently started having this problem that sometimes after I hook the fish the whole UI starts to get unresponsive and the only thing i can do is just sit there with a fishingrod in the hole, i can still use the shortcut keys to clear the slush and open the map and such, but all the progress is halted and the only option is to quit or restart the game.

In free fishing you can sell the fishes multiple times if you just leave and reconnect after selling the fishes.

Seems worse than that. It feels as though the shack is accumulating prior totals and you can walk up to it and get paid for 600+ lbs of fish without doing a thing. Or I could, anyway.

With the Anniversary Update (Jun 2017), I am seeing a new bug. Lately I have only been playing the new maps added, primarily Tropical Freeze. I have also been using the 'g' for fishing rod toggle, which is GREAT! I only mention them in case they are related to the bug, which is...

I get a big hit by a fish, but when I try to hook it my lure comes up empty. There is no message that I am too slow. I use the F key to hook them, so I don't ever miss the big ones.

I then drop the lure back in, leave it there a few seconds, move it around. I am unable to get another bite, so I retrieve it (F). I have the fish on the line from the previous strike! The first time this happened I thought it had just glitched, but it happened 4 or 5 times now. I never saw this behavior before the update.

Thanks for the report. We tried reproducing this, but didn't manage to get the same issue. If this happens again you could send a log file to [e-mail], either immediately or after ending the game, it might be useful. Instructions for this are in the first post.

Line Broke on Linux still isn't fixed.

This game doesen't worth buying it, because the Dev's doesen't show any interest on fixing the Bugs.

Yupy, I run this game fine on Linux. Maybe you are catching too big of fish for your rod. Which rod do you have? Turn off Fish Fighting if it is on.

Nothing happens when I launch the game in Big Picture but it works in desktop mode. Whats up with that? I tried uninstaling the game and re-instaling it to no avail.

when joining an online game i get the message "Server is running different version of the game, make sure you have updated to the latest version", i tried reinstalling and nothing changed, windows10

Game crashes after playing for 2 minutes. And I really do enjoy this game so it makes me sad :(

Not sure if it is a bug or if it's supposed to be, but i thought the lure would go down when lowering the rod ?
As far as i can see the lure is going up when lowering the rod and down when the rod goes higher ?

I agree. It has been months since multiple reportings of this problem, even via email by me. Seems like they just dont care. Pity, that I preferably buy games when they are supported by Linux. None of this developer in future.

The game does work on Linux, but we only guarantee it to work with the latest SteamOS. The game will work on other Linux distributions as well, but it is impossible for us to test all the hardware and distro combinations. Some users on Linux do experience the Line Broke issue, but we have not been able to locate the cause so far. We will keep looking, but there are still issues left that affect higher number of users and they will get a higher priority.

On rare occasions it has also been a player issue as there is a game feature where if you fish too big fish with a small hole the line will always brake. (As the fish can't fit through the hole)

@Iceflake... I got the Line Break on Linux Mint 18.1, Solus, Manjaro 17.02, Ubuntu MATE 17.04, openSUSE Tumbleweed I highly doubt is because of the hardware.

Hope you guys find the issue I really like this game.
