Car Shells/Car Parts/Loot crates respawn timers - HOW DO THEY WORK?
So first off, this is a great game and it has a lot of potential. I love the "PvE progression" esque thing, and I look forward to the up and coming updates.

I've searched absolutely everywhere for an answer on this. Car shells and car parts respawns. I've hit atleast 100+ loot crates and found nothing but arrows and bullets, and I see the same empty car shells dotted around the rad towns with nothing inside them, still claimed by the same player.

Car shells are NOT respawning. I've checked every rad town on the map (except aircraft carrier) and ran circlets of each and every one spanning over a few days, and still no respawns. Loot crates are few and far between too.

I'm currently playing on a community server, a fairly quiet one that peaks at around 8 players. I thought possibly the spawns are dynamic - increasing the respawn frequency when more players are online - but then again, I cannot find a definite answer anywhere on the internet to confirm this.

In fairness, this system of running around radtowns endlessly for the stupidly slim chance of finding car parts/shells relates to the system rust uses, which is awful. You can either get very lucky and have an end tier car in your first radtown run, or you could be running a radtown for days just to get a bad quad bike. In my opinion, car parts should be craftable - but very expensive. The car claiming system also needs tweaking due to every single empty car shell being claimed.

And please, don't get me started on the rarity of det caps...

So i ask you, the general public and/or devs - answer the question we are all asking - Why are cars impossible to get? Are we doing something wrong?

That link doesn't tell me anything about car shell respawn times.

next update players wont be claiming cars until they are complete. also, the first two radtowns you wont expect much unclaimed cars at all, your best bet would be to live by a radtown get a quadbike and make runs to the other 4 towns. next update you will also be able to dismantle claimed cars. craftable cars would break things, nobody wants to grind for everything in the game, theres gotta be some chance to items, making them rare. rare isnt just grinding for the items you need, you gotta search. det caps wont be a big thing next update either with the raid drill coming. though theres a few things in the game that id like to see a bit different such as ammo(the cost of animal fat), that also goes for c4, the cost is really high so basically you have to grind and search for the items you need. would also like to see something implemented so players cant just log out with all of theyre items, theres big talk about improvement on PVP infamy system but theres also flaws with raiding. people come to raid somone and they have already logged out with all the valuables, basically all you get is an empty building which is nothing to endgame players looking to raid.

Loot crates by default are set to spawn a minimum of 35 but up to 60 can spawn depending on how many players are on the server. I forget exactly what their timer is, but I think it's something like 30 minutes per loot crate spawn.

Car loot shares the exact same loot table as loot crates, therefor their drops are uniform with one another. Vehicle spawn rates are set quite low right now in vanilla considering unclaimed vehicles now despawn.... meaning it takes quite a while for the default maximum car spawn (60 for goat, 60 for roach max) to be achieved.

Car spawns have their own loot generators to determine which panels they spawn with. Each car has a default of 6 rolls per spawn to populate its panels.... however not every roll will result in a panel added.


Anyway you're always welcome to check out my server Weedworld 420. The crate/car loot tables have been balanced, car spawns increased.... C4 is a bit lower than in vanilla. Mob spawns increased. 2X loot on mobs and nodes. Lots of features. Plus a weed based currency lol.

I would join your server, however me and my friends are very well established on this current server with a 20x20 castle

We also have cars now :D
